On Friday 20th January a group of 14 gifted and talented MFL students attended an ‘Arabic Day’ at Exeter University. The day included a lesson in Arabic culture and a lesson in writing names in Arabic. Students also had a tour of the University and its facilities which included a free lunch in the ‘Terrace Restaurant’. At the end of the day two students studying on Arabic-related courses gave a talk on their time on a year’s visit to Jordan.
Students were full of positive comments when asked what they enjoyed about the day; highlights were: “Writing our name. It was fascinating learning a completely different language” and “The tour because it was great to discover what the place is like”.
